Marstin L Alexander of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 31, 2025 at the age of 72. Marstin was born May 12, 1953. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 54 years Isabella (Bella) (McGrow) Alexander of Bluffton; his daughter Heather Pierce (Calvin Pierce Jr), his daughter Amanda Stanley (Rob Stanley) and his son M. Nathan Alexander (Jamie Alexander). He was the proud grandfather to Zachary and Ethan Pierce, Andrew and Aaron Stanley and Hannah and M. Nathan Alexander.

He is also survived by his brother P. Nixon Alexander and sister Lorinda Krause and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Marstin was preceded in death by his parents P. Nelson and Jane M Alexander of Dillsburg, PA and his brother Halvard Alexander.

Marstin graduated from Northern High School in Dillsburg, PA and earned a bachelors degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Marstin earned four varsity letters throughout his high school career and continued playing football for four years as a UPenn Quaker. He began working in the Comptroller’s Office as a student and accepted a full-time position after graduation. Marstin continued at the University of Pennsylvania as the Associate Comptroller until 2003. He then relocated to Dillsburg, PA to work in a family business. After full retirement in 2018, he and Bella moved to Bluffton, SC for warmer weather and a new chapter of their life together.

Marstin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (a/k/a, BG), brother, brother-in-law, and friend.

Marstin enjoyed playing golf, traveling, reading, games, spending time at the beach, and most of all, spending time with family. He was a history and trivia guru and loved to make people laugh. His large stature was only surpassed by his booming voice to win games and his love and devotion to his family.

A family celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida or; Agape Care of South Carolina, both of whom provided outstanding care during his three year battle with cancer.
