Timothy Michael Tuten

Timothy Michael Tuten passed away suddenly on April 12, 2026.  He was born on October 6, 1958, in Savannah, Georgia, to Henry and Sara Tuten.

As Firefighter, his career began at Station 3 in Savannah when Mike turned 18. In 2001, he went to the Daufuskie Island Fire District. His career on Daufuskie lasted 15 years. He loved every moment spent there.

"Mike was a firefighter who answered every call with pride and commitment. He had a one-of-a-kind personality and a sense of humor that could lift even the toughest days. Larger than life, Mike left an impression on everyone he met."  stated The Daufuskie Island Fire District.

He retired in 2016 and accepted the position of Chief of Security at Colleton River Club where his dedication and commitment continued in until he retired in 2023.   Mike is survived by his wife, Lori, stepdaughter, Sarah, grandchildren, Jarrett, Chloe, and Sydney; brothers Charles Tuten, John Tuten, and Kelly Tuten. Mike was predeceased by his daughter, Terra.

A celebration of life is planned for, Saturday, May 16th, at Rose Dhu Creek Plantation (Bluffton), at the Gathering Place. All are welcome to celebrate Mike's life from 11-3.
