Barbara Black Foster

Jan 27, 1944 — Jul 8, 2026

Barbara "Bobbi" Black Foster, age 82, passed away on July 8, 2026, at Trident Hospital, surrounded by her loving church family. Born on January 27, 1944, Bobbi was the beloved daughter of Albert C. Black and Estelle Hodge Black. She grew up attending Roebuck Presbyterian Church, where she developed a strong foundation of faith that remained with her throughout her life. Bobbi graduated from Roebuck High School and later earned her degree from Montreat College in Montreat, North Carolina. She dedicated her career to educating young minds as a school teacher. She found great joy in music and especially cherished

children. She referred to them as “ my tiny humans“ and loved teaching them Scripture songs. She reminded us that we are always to orient our lives toward God, just like the sunflower always faces the sun. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Oak Community Church in Summerville, South Carolina, where she treasured the friendships and fellowship of her church family. Bobbie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, her love for children, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. Her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert C. Black and Estelle Hodges Black and her brother John Alexander Black. Family and friends are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support of Bobbi’s church family, who remained faithfully by her side during her final days. Funeral and memorial service arrangements will be announced by the family.
