Beckie Carol Morton-Morris

Nov 13, 1942 — May 24, 2026

Beckie Carol Morton Morris, age 83, of Ladson, South Carolina, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 24, 2026. She passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of family and the grace of God.

Born on November 13, 1942, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Beckie was the daughter of John William Morton and Mary Leilia Doares Morton. She was a high school graduate who also pursued college studies and dedicated her life to serving others through her faith, family, and ministry.

A faithful member of Miles Road Baptist Church, Beckie's greatest passion was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life reflected unwavering faith, heartfelt prayer, and a sincere desire to share God's love with everyone she met. She taught children's Sunday School for many years and faithfully served wherever God called her.

One of Beckie's special gifts was crocheting. She combined her love of this craft with her passion for sharing the Gospel, creating countless ornaments, gifts, and handmade treasures that carried messages of faith, hope, and encouragement. What began as a hobby became a heartfelt ministry through which she touched many lives and pointed others toward Christ.

Among her many accomplishments, Beckie was featured in Family Circle Magazine in 1985 for her exceptional crocheting talents and the numerous first-place ribbons she earned for her work. She viewed every recognition not as a personal achievement, but as an opportunity to glorify her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Those who knew Beckie will remember her as a woman of deep compassion, steadfast faith, and genuine love for others. She never missed an opportunity to encourage someone with God's truth, offer a kind word, or pray for those in need. Her life was a testimony of faithful service, kindness, and devotion to her family, church, and community.

Though her family and friends will miss her greatly, they rejoice in the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words she longed for all her life: "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)

A Celebration of Life service honoring Beckie's life and legacy will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Miles Road Baptist Church, 816 Miles Jamison Road, Summerville, South Carolina 29485. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miles Road Baptist Church to support its ministries and outreach efforts.

Beckie was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Edmond Morris; her son, Monroe Edmond Morris, Jr.; her parents, John William Morton and Mary Leilia Doares Morton; and her sister, Mildred Reid.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Morris; her siblings, Judy Moore, Patricia Cooper, John "Johnny" Morton (Valarie Morton), Jeffery Morton (Marena Morton), James "Jimmy" Morton (Cynthia "Cindy" Morton), and Donna Kelly; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy of faith, prayer, service, and love.
