Dewey Ernest Schutt

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dewey E. Schutt of Summerville, SC, who passed away on July 27, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born on May 8, 1944, in Washington, Dewey lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and dedication to his work. Throughout his life, he was known for the love he held for his late wife, Jean Schutt, and their surviving goddaughters, family, and friends. Dewey was a Veteran of the United States Navy and took pride in his career as a long-haul truck driver. Outside of work, Dewey could be found at the racetrack. He was well known for his love and need for speed on both his Harley-Davidson and his race cars. Dewey wished for a private farewell, and no public funeral service will be held. 

Family and friends are encouraged to remember him in their own way and celebrate the life he lived. Though Dewey is no longer with us, his love, legacy, and memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
