Donald Charles Dietrich
Aug 5, 1952 — Jan 27, 2025
Donald Dietrich Sr., age 72, of Moncks Corner, passed away on Monday, January 27, at Trident Medical Hospital. He was born in Warren, OH, on August 5, 1952, to the late Eileen and William A. Dietrich.
Don enjoyed playing puzzle games with his wife, Barb, and tinkering with anything that had—or didn’t have—an engine. He was an avid Lego builder and SWAT viewer. A proud Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan, Don also enjoyed camping and working at Jolly Acres Campground alongside his best friends, Larry and Becky Horne. He was always up for an adventure.
Don is remembered as a man who took care of everyone, but especially those he loved. With his playful nature and passion for teasing his wife, he was always just a call away when help was needed. Whether it was family, friends, or even friends of friends, Don would come to the rescue with no questions asked. He had an uncanny ability to make anyone smile or laugh with just a simple look.
Most importantly, he is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Barbara Jean Dietrich, whom he married on March 3, 1984; children Donald C. Dietrich Jr. (Carrie) of Indiana, Kandy Bolen (Mark) of Indiana, Jeremy Dietrich (Jill) of California, and Eileen Earle (Chris) of Moncks Corner; his sister Sherri Dudinsky (Robert) of Ohio; brothers Robert Dietrich (Mary) of Colorado, James Dietrich (Linda) of Ohio, David Dietrich (Florence) of Texas, William Dietrich (Lynn) of Ohio, Hal Stuble (Sharron) of Florida, and Fred Stuble (Sue) of Ohio. He is also survived by five grandsons and four granddaughters.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen Dietrich and William A. Dietrich, and Katheryn Dietrich, all of Ohio, as well as his brother, James Stuble, of Ohio.
It would be an understatement to say that he will be deeply missed and was loved by all who knew him.
