Gary Gene Cooper, a devoted husband and loving father of six passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 30, 2025. Born on October 27, 1942 in Topeka, Kansas, he was the youngest of five siblings born to Walter and Rosa Cooper. Gary proudly served in the United States Navy, dedicating 20 years of his life to his country and he was honored to be a Vietnam veteran. After his military service, he embarked on a new chapter at the most magical place on earth Walt Disney World for 25 years. There, his exemplary work ethic and unwavering integrity left a lasting impression on both his colleagues and the guest he served. After leaving Walt Disney he moved to Tennessee where he went to work for his son in-law David Mallory for 2 years.
Before passing Gary was raising two great grandkids, Faith and Elijah. He was a man of faith, service and steady love. He served as a deacon in his church for over a decade, living out his deep love for the Lord and everything he did. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Linda Lou Cooper who stood by his side through every challenge and joy. She stood with unwavering love by his side during his declining health.
They had six children, Lisa Mallory (David Mallory), Troy Cooper (deceased-Stephanie Cooper), Linda Goddard, Gary Cooper Jr, Christopher Cooper,Michael Cooper. He had 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren whom he loved very much. Gary has 1 son who served in the United States Navy and 3 grandchildren who served in the United States Marines, Army National Guards, and the United States Navy.
