James J Heffron

James J. Heffron, 88, of James Island, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a local nursing home. Mr. Heffron was born on October 7, 1936, in Glasglow Montana, a son of the late James J. Heffron Sr. and Mary Heffron. James served in the Air Force and retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with the family, traveling, gardening, and college football. He is survived by his son Mark L. Heffron (Maria); daughter, Alicia A. Heffron; brother, Charles A. Heffron; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, and Eli Heffron. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Jeanette Heffron (2014) and by his grandson, Logan Manor (2003). A funeral mass will be held at 1130 am on November 12, 2024 at Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veterans Victory House, 2461 Sidneys Rd., Walterboro, SC 2948
