Kelly D Wood
Feb 27, 1948 — Jul 26, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly D. Wood, age 78, on Friday June 26, 2026, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
Kelly was a graduate of Grant High School, in Grant, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Kelly served his country honorably during the Vietnam War, with stations in both Vietnam and England. Kelly was a member of the Piggly Wiggly team, working as a truck driver with an impeccable safety record for 39 years.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, and spending time with his large family. Kelly enjoyed traveling with his wife, Diane Wood, and collecting art and treasures from the many destinations they visited. During their marriage, the couple never shared harsh words between them. Kelly was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9509. He didn’t know a stranger and was always there to help his family and friends. He will be missed by so many.
Kelly is survived by his wife of 42 years Diane, and their children Milissa Martin, Dana Wood-Banister (and her husband Steve Banister), Tina Truett, and Christopher Wood (and his wife Leslie Cleaver Wood). Kelly has 5 grandchildren, Niki Mosny, Skylar Wynn, Haley Banister, Cole Truett, and Dean Wood, Kelly has two great-grandchildren, Aubree Wynn and Penelope Mosny, as well as their “adopted” grandson Patrick Heaton. Kelly is predeceased by his parents Earl and Ivah Wood, and 3 siblings Donna, Marcia, and Keith.
