Robert "Bob" George Otto, Jr.

Oct 20, 1952 — Jun 21, 2026

Robert (Bob) George Otto Jr., 73, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness with cancer.

Born on October 20, 1952, in South Bend IN, Bob was the son of the late Alice Louise Riggens and Robert George Otto Sr.

Bob was a Vietnam Era Veteran who served 8 years in the Air Force. After his discharge from the USAF, he worked with ABC Awning & Venetian Blind Corp as Plant Supervisor, until retirement, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication throughout his career. He was an avid fisherman and a longtime member of the Summerville Bassmasters. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course, following racing and hockey, and riding his Harley. Whether he was on the water, on the road, or gathered with family and friends, Bob found joy in the moments that mattered most and building a lifetime of memories.

Above all, Bob's greatest pride was his family. He shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another. Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy Hicks Otto; his daughters, Jodi Fortunato and Julie St. Jean (Joey); his grandchildren, Madison Paxson (Tyler), Mason St. Jean, Dean Joseph and Amanda Fortunato; and his great-grandsons, Noah Outlaw and Jenson Paxson.

He is also survived by his sister, Cindi Arnold (Vince); his brother, Rick Otto; his sister-inlaw, Terry Harrison (Hank); his brother-in-law, Bill Hicks; his nieces, Elizabeth Harrison and Heidi Arnold (Aaron); his nephew, Ryan Arnold (Crissy); and many cousins, extended family members and dear friends.

Bob will be remembered for his willingness to help others and his sense of humor. His quiet determination left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
