Wesley Legrand Evans

November 15, 1946 — April 14, 2025

Mr. Evans entered Heaven’s gates April 14, 2025, after battling injuries received from an accident earlier this year. He had spent the last 15 years of his life, doing what he loved most, which was traveling across America and Canada transporting campers for a company out of IN. He would not have wanted to live any other way! The freedom of the open road was all he longed for.

He proudly served his country in both the US Army and the Air Force, volunteering for 2 tours in Vietnam. After his military career, he went to work for Civil Service where he retired from the Charleston Shipyard.

Those who knew Wes or Legrand (as his family would call him) knew 3 things were absolutely true about him, he loved fast cars, beautiful women and his momma! He married several times in his life but had been single for many years. He had only recently given his heart to the Lord and was so very excited the last 6 months knowing he would one day spend eternity in heaven with those he loved so dear that had gone on before him.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Rachel Christine Irby and father, John Wesley Evans, and his sister Betty Jane Classen. He leaves behind a loving niece Christi Dangerfield Warthan of Charleston SC, a cousin David McCoy of Dayton, VA as well as countless friends.

The family held a small private service for him on April 22, 2025, and he was laid to rest next to his mother at Hicks Cemetery in Coward, SC. Cards or well wishes may be sent to his family at 2390 Storen St, Charleston, SC 29406.
