Wilbert Beverly
Nov 9, 1948 — Jun 26, 2026
Wilbert Beverly, 77, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, after a courageous, years-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
Born on November 9, 1948, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, Wilbert was the son of the late Willie Beverly and Marguerite F. Beverly. From an early age, he developed a love for the outdoors through his time as a Boy Scout, a passion that remained with him throughout his life. He found great joy in the mountains, hiking, hunting, and spending time in nature.
Wilbert was a proud graduate of Clemson University and remained a devoted Clemson Tigers fan throughout his life. Whether cheering on his Tigers or sharing stories of his college days, his Clemson pride never faded.
For more than 30 years, Wilbert enjoyed a successful career as a Civil Engineer. He was respected for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. Beyond his profession, Wilbert was known as a true handyman. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Friends and neighbors could always count on him to repair a vehicle, maintain a pool or yard, build a deck, or lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His generosity and willingness to serve others touched countless lives.
On August 6, 1971, Wilbert married the love of his life, Barbara Beverly. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love, sharing nearly 55 years of marriage filled with countless cherished memories.
Above all else, Wilbert’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a delighted great-grandfather. His quiet strength, dependable nature, and selfless heart made him someone his family could always rely on.
Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Beverly and Marguerite F. Beverly.
He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Dunsford (Bob Dunsford), Margaret Dew (Johnny Dew), his brother James Beverly (Tammy Beverly), along with many nieces and nephews.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Barbara Beverly; his daughters, Melissa Beverly and Callie Beverly (Terry Coates Jr.); his son, Bryan Walker Beverly (Stevie Pawlik); his grandchildren, Ross Stout (Jessica Stout), Victoria Stout (Chris Pacetti), Macey Mizzell, Kyleigh Henninger, Brayden Beverly, and Andrea Austin; and his great-grandchildren, Alex Stout, Taylor Stout, Aubrey Mizzell, and Greyson Pacetti. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors whose lives were enriched by his kindness and generosity.
Wilbert was truly a man of many hats—sometimes literally. Whether he was exploring the mountains, cheering on Clemson, tackling a home improvement project, or simply helping someone in need, he lived a life marked by compassion, humility, and service. He never hesitated to lend a hand, and his willingness to help others became one of the defining characteristics of his life.
Although Alzheimer’s disease gradually took pieces of his memory, it never diminished the love his family held for him or the incredible impact he had on everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he built, and the countless acts of kindness he performed throughout his life.
He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished but for who he was—a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and a man who would do anything for anyone.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A celebration of Life will be held for him on July 1, 2026 from 2:00-4:00PM at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services located at 281 Treeland Drive, Suite C Ladson, SC 29456.
