Gary Ferdon, 67 of North Charleston was called home by his Heavenly Father on March 29, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Gary loved music and was an accomplished musician. He was a keyboardist for two contemporary Christian bands in Lafayette, IN. He was the leader of the very popular band the Allusions for many years in Charleston. He also played keyboards with the Greek band the Ageans with whom he travelled nationwide. By trade he was a production engineer and was very heavily involved in a lifesaving product developed by Cook Biotech in W. Lafayette, IN, for 8 years before returning to Charleston in 2010. He attended St. Barnabas Lutheran Church and was a member of the Islander Shag Club as well as a member of the Elks Lodge #242. He served as a sergeant in the US Army for 3 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Adeline Jager Ferdon, daughter Stacey Eder (Robert Lee), stepson Roger Paul Flathman, Sr., sister Naomi Moody (Brion), sister in law Nancy Ferdon, brother in law Charles W. Jager (Anthoula), six grandchildren, one great grandchild, four nieces, and two nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Etta, two brothers Kenneth and Dwight, and stepdaughter Angela Flathman Yonce.
Services will be held 3:00pm Saturday, April 4, 2015 at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church 45 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29403-4132. Flowers will be accepted and/or please consider a donation of any amount in Gary’s memory to St. Barnabas Lutheran Church.
