Jenny Tyner Mayo

October 17, 1942 - March 29, 2026

Jenny (Lynn) Tyner Mayo left us early in the morning on the last Sunday in March. She is survived by her children (Katie/Todd, Taylor, Kelly/Don), grandchildren (Caroline/Austin, Jackson/Charlize, Anna Claire/Graham, Jonah, Daniel), great grandchildren (Annabelle and a baby girl on the way), siblings (Eddie/Barbara, Tommy, Sharon/Terry), numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins, and countless friends.

She loved animals, the color blue, holidays, dressing up, Pepsi, moon pies, and good country food. She never left home without makeup on and lipstick handy in her purse. She loved to dance, sing, play games of all kinds, joke around, and laugh, even if it was at herself. She would give you the shirt off her back if that’s all she had. She cared hard and she loved hard.

We are navigating a strange feeling of joy for her and grief for us. She will be as greatly missed as she is dearly loved. Jenny will be alive and with us so long as we continue to tell her story. Graveside services will be held at Oliver’s Grove Baptist Church (8715 US HWY 301 S, Four Oaks, NC 27524) on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00am. A time of fellowship and food will follow at the church.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest - Matthew 11:28

God rolled out the red carpet, and our beauty queen walked it with a broad smile and joy in her soul.
