Deborah (Debbie) Betty Thigpen

July 23, 1948 — May 20, 2026

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Deborah (Debbie) Betty Thigpen who departed this life us on May 20, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in Mobile, Alabama, she was the daughter of H.C. and Shirley Betty.

Deborah graduated from Murphy High School and worked many years as a comptroller for Forest Lake Travel and Ace Glass.

Debbie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She spent her life nurturing everyone around her. She will leave a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Rudy” Thigpen, her parents, her sister, Donna Mizzell, her brother, Robert “Bobby” Betty (Judy) and grandchild, William Burr.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kimberly “Kim” Burr, and Shauna Autry (Dexter); her cherished grandchildren, Candice Williams, Taylor Cotton and Logan Burr, her great-grandson Josiah; nieces and nephew, extended family members, and dear friends.

In accordance with Debbie’s wishes no funeral service will be held. Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate her memory privately in their own special way. Her love and spirit will remain with all who knew and loved her.
