With profound love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Frances George, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born and raised in Estill, South Carolina, she carried with her the values of faith, hard work, and family that would guide her throughout her life. After completing her education at Estill High School, she relocated to New York, gained an associate’s degree at Bronx Community College. She then obtained a job at the NYC Board of Education where she worked for over 20 years until she retired. Through her dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving students and families, she positively impacted countless lives. Following retirement, she returned to South Carolina and made her home in Columbia, where she enjoyed spending precious time with her family and watching future generations grow.

A nurturing and compassionate woman, she dedicated her life to her loved ones, always offering encouragement, strength, and unconditional love. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alexander Duncan and Bertha Roberson Duncan. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving sister, Cordelia Villard who resides in Florida; her three devoted daughters, Sharon Duncan, Janee Duncan-Muhammad, Janelle Duncan, Tyler Duncan and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will forever treasure her.

Frances will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her caring heart, her strong faith, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed. Her legacy of love, resilience, and service will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Though she has departed this earthly life, her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
