George M. Molina

With much sadness we announce the passing of George M Molina. George passed away on April 23, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and friend to countless individuals and family members and his presence will be deeply missed. 

George was born in Whittier, California on June 28, 1945. His late parents were Mary Esther Molina and Santos Contreas Molina. He is survived by his wife Susan Koby Molina, daughter Meaghan E. Molina and his 3 daughters from a previous marriage, Michele P. Molina, Angela L. Garcia, and Tanya S. Davey. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Andrew Garcia and Aubrie Myles. He is survived as well by his brother Robert E. Molina and sister Elvira D. Rivas and a large extended family of many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

George is a graduate of St Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, California. He was a proud "Swordsman" as a vital member of a winning football team coached by the late Mariyon Ansech. He has fond memories of his participation and has shared many colorful accounts of his time spent there. George received a bachelor's degree in business from Columbia College in 1982. 

George enlisted in the US Army in 1967. He is a veteran of the Vietnam war where he earned the Army Commendation Medal with "V" device for valor. He was serving in Company B, 577th Engineer Battalion and during a mortar attack he alerted men in his area and directed them to bunkers. In the absence of his platoon sergeant he took charge and began the task of getting medical aid to the wounded, calming the men and distributing ammunition and when thd attack lifted, he directed the establishment of the defenses in his area. George was injured severely in Sept. 1970 and received the purple heart as a result of his wounds. George continued his military service as an Army recruiter, having processed enlistment for over 500 applicants. He earned a "Gold Badge" as a result of his success. As of the present many of those enlistees have remained in contact with him and thanked him numerous times for his guidance. He retired from the Army in 1986. 

Upon retirement from the Army, George found a home as an Electrician withe the department of transportation in California, commonly known as "Cal-trans". He worked several years with them retiring in 2006. To know George was quite an experience and honor. He was extremely knowledgeable in many trades to include woodworking, electrical, welding, plumbing and automotive. He was generous in sharing his extensive knowledge with family and friends and many have been recipient's of his own creative talents. Many family and friends have labeled George as "One of the Good Guys" . He has also been called the most interesting man in the world. His loves were his family. He loved his children and his wife Susan. He was so proud of all of them. George will be missed dearly. He will be cremated and will be laid to rest when his surviving spouse Susan passes and they will be buried together. In the meantime a celebration of his life will occur with details to come.
