Karen "Nana" O'Neal

Our beloved Karen “Nana” O’Neal (71) went to her heavenly home in the early morning hours of January 16th, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Karen was born on August 6th, 1953, to Walter and Helen Hill In Newberry, SC.

She is survived by her husband, Danny; her children, Kristie Nicholson (Greg) and Justin O’Neal (Ashley); her grandchildren, Hunter and Madison Nicholson, Nolan, Skye, and Elijah O’Neal; her sister, Ruth Church (Jack); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Dowd, and her brothers, Everette, David, and Eddie Hill. 

Nana loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and planted many seeds of faith in all who would listen. Known for throwing down in the kitchen, especially for her family, that was one of the many ways she showed her love. She made sure she checked on you, prayed for you, fed you, and let you know how much you were loved - pouring so much of herself into those who were near and dear to her. Even when she wasn't at her best, she always made sure others were taken care of and put their needs above her own. Remember her for the joy she brought to your life, not the sadness of her passing. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 25th, 2025, at 1200 PM at The Camp Wedding & Event Venue, 300 Noah Lucas Rd., Lexington, SC 29073.
