Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, Kurt E Reuter, 78, died at his residence in Boise, Idaho on January 25, 2026 after a long illness.
He was born June 21, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Eugene and Audrey (Lindsay) Reuter. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Mauna Loa. While visiting a Navy friend in Boise, ID he decided to move his young family here because of the great beauty of the state, the values of the people and his ability to provide for them in the best way possible. After a while, he joined the Navy Reserve and then joined the Idaho Air Guard. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. His service with Idaho Air Guard included: Operation Provide Comfort in Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Southern Watch; in Incirlik, Turkey , in support of Operation Northern Watch; and in Al Jaber, Kuwait in support of Iraqi Freedom. Kurt served 33 years in military service – 17 years in the Navy/Navy Reserve and 16 years in Idaho Air Guard. He is a Life Member of two VFW Posts: #63 in Boise and #2473 in Clearwater, FL.
Kurt is a life member of Oriental Lodge #60 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Idaho. He served as Worshipful Master; District Deputy Grand Master; was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite.
Kurt and Ann Marie celebrated 56 years of marriage in May 2025. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Bill and wife Anita (Schaeffer) Reuter. Kurt is survived by his wife Ann Marie (Wallace) Reuter, his daughter Kimarie Kirsch and husband Greg; his son Paul and wife Aimee (Potts) Reuter; three grandchildren Meilora Frakes, Teagan and Trace Reuter; his sister Joan (Reuter) Walker and husband Michael and their children Christopher and Stephen Walker and their children.
A celebration of life and Masonic Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 9 at Summers Funeral Home, Boise. Internment with military honors will be at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise, February 9 at 2 p.m.
