Pamela Marie Kautz
January 18, 1955 — May 23, 2026
Pamela Kautz went to be with her Father in Heaven on May 23, 2026, after a courageous six-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Pamela Marie Kautz (Williams) was born on January 18, 1955, in Boise, Idaho, the first of three children born to Earl Marion Williams and Joan Marie Williams (Edwards). Pam grew up in Vale, Oregon, alongside her two younger brothers, Jeffry and Matthew. After the fourth grade, the Williams family moved to Ontario, Oregon, where they held a prominent role in the community. She was an avid dancer in her teenage years, but prior to that, she often considered herself to be somewhat of a tomboy with her sense of adventure and always being busy with different activities. Pam was determined and a go-getter from a very young age—whether it was fishing in the local creek to bring home fish to feed her stray cats, or organizing all the neighborhood kids in the garage to place them as the students and her as their teacher. Throughout her time at Ontario High School, Pam participated in colorguard as well as dance. She graduated early and got a head start on her college degree at Treasure Valley Community College.
A big love of hers was dance, which led her to the University of Oregon where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. After college, Pam found her dream career as a flight attendant, serving 43 years with Hughes Airwest, Northwest Airlines, and later Delta Airlines until she retired in 2020. Throughout her career, Pam received many awards and accomplishments, but what she treasured most was her time visiting different places. For some, a beer in London, shopping and gazing at the flowers in Amsterdam, or walking the streets of Paris was a once-in-a-lifetime trip. For Pam, it was an opportunity she had every week; she loved and cherished every mile of it.
In the spring of 1987, Pam received flowers from a man helping landscape her lawn in Federal Way, Washington. These flowers led to a date at Anthony’s Homeport in Tacoma, and a couple of months later, Pam married Rodney Kautz on September 5, 1987. Together, they built a life that started in Federal Way, Washington, where they had two children, Casey (1989) and Taylor (1991), and soon after transitioned to Boise, Idaho, so Pam could be back in the Treasure Valley and closer to family. Pam and Rod cherished the opportunity Casey and Taylor had of growing up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
While in Boise, Pam's interests grew in gardening and restoring furniture. Every house that Rod and Pam moved into, she changed the landscape from drab to a Garden of Eden. This passion was second to none when it came to restoring and flipping furniture. Her weekends were spent mapping out all of the garage sales she could possibly go to, and her weekdays were dedicated to restoring what she had acquired. Pam loved sharing these passions with family and friends, always giving them her tips and tricks to decorate their own homes and gardens. Through her love of flowers and decorating, Pam was able to transform all of our houses into homes.
Family continued to be paramount to Pam, and her joy exploded in 2020 when her first grandchild was born. Pam adored her grandkids so much that Rod and Pam packed up their life of 34 years in Boise, sold the house, and moved to Vancouver, Washington, in 2023 to be closer to the grandbabies. She loved reading to them, singing with them, praying for them, they were adored by their Nana and they revere her. She was even able to facetime with her brand new grandson, Kelvin, just days before she passed. Pam loved being a mom to Casey and Taylor, and that love extended tremendously to her grandkids.
Amongst all her loves and passions, her life was ultimately about serving her Savior, Jesus. From quiet daily devotions to unapologetic discipleship, Pam lived to point others to Christ. Her humility, authenticity, and consistency did just that throughout her life, and her legacy continues to shine brighter as an encouragement and proof of the amazing love of God. She was unwavering for Jesus, and through her many battles, she never lost sight or focus on Him. We picture Jesus hugging and kissing Pam, with His first words being, "Well done, well done, my good and faithful servant."
Pam is survived by her husband, Rodney; her two children, Casey (Samantha) Kautz and Taylor (Jacob) Tront; her grandchildren, Kasen, Tatum, and Piper Tront, and Kelvin Kautz. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Jeffry (Debbie) Williams and Matthew (Karlene) Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Although her time on this earth may have concluded, her legacy lives on. She continues to inspire others to live for Jesus. Thank you Buv, Mom, Nana, Sister, Aunt, and Friend for being an absolute legend. We love you, and your legacy lives on.
