Raymond Dana Gibson

Raymond Dana Gibson (Ray), age 86, of Sun City Center passed away on October 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Doris Gibson, sister Edis Homer, and brothers Lyle and Gale Gibson. He leaves behind a loving wife of 62 years, Rachel B. Gibson, two daughters (Roberta Monroe - husband Timothy and Dr. Randi Gibson) and a son (Raymond Gibson - wife Kathy). In addition, four grandchildren - Jennifer Brock - husband Steve, James Gibson, Megan Gibson- husband Brian and Shannon Gibson Ray received a undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock College (PA) and earned graduate degrees from Westminster College (PA) and the University of Illinois. He was a mathematics professor at Indiana University of PA for 30 years. Ray was a avid sports enthusiast and later in life enjoyed lawn bowling, camping, motorhoming and traveling. A memorial service for Ray will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church (Sun City Center) on October 24th at 10:00 AM, where he served as an elder, greeter and on various other committees. He was a member of the men's club and the lawn bowling club since moving to Sun City Center in 1998.
