Susan Joyce Roy

May 4, 1960 — June 3, 2026

Susan Joyce Roy, born May 4, 1960, was sent to her eternal home on June 3, 2026. She was only 66 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death.

Susan is survived and missed by her loving husband William of 20 years. Siblings and their families are Thomas Edward Joyce and his wife Ellen, and Gary Roy. Her memory will be cherished by the Roy and Joyce families.

Her memory lives on with her numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Susan was predeceased by her father, Thomas Edward Joyce, her mother, Elizabeth Ellen (Brown) Joyce, her sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann (Joyce) Reilly and Paul Joseph Reilly and her nephew Christopher James Joyce.

She was born in and raised in Newton. MA and had numerous occupations in Massachusetts with her main career as a computer technician for the city of Framingham where she retired. After retiring she and her husband moved to Valencia Lakes in Wimauma, FL to enjoy the benefits of a warmer climate and retirement life. Susan made many friends in this community and was best known for her jewelry craftsmanship, fitness classes and love of animals. One of her favorite things was her trips and stays on Anna Maria Island and beaching with Bill.

Even in retirement, Susan had many professions in which she could use her skills. She worked in facilities caring for the elderly, homeowners associations in customer service roles as well as technical roles in IT functions. She was always willing to help anyone with her many talents.

Although Susan’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

To honor her life, a private service will be held for close friends and family. Susan will be buried in Sarasota at the Veterans Cemetery.
