Georgianne Elizabeth Hudon
March 28, 1944 — May 21, 2026
Georgianne Elizabeth Hudon, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2026, in Bluffton, South Carolina, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Southington, Connecticut to the late George and Ann Porto, Georgianne lived a life defined by passion, independence, and an unshakeable love for people, animals, and beauty. She later resided in Tampa, Florida, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, leaving an unforgettable mark on every community she touched.
Georgianne was a woman of incredible talent and drive. An accomplished equestrian competitor in her younger years, her love for grace and movement carried into everything she did. She pursued her education at business school in Hamden, Connecticut, which laid the foundation for her fierce entrepreneurial spirit.
She was a successful businesswoman, owning and running her own nail salon in Florida, "Sculptured Nails by George," before going on to head her own limousine company, Porto Limos' and was the head "Chauffeuse" Beyond her business acumen, Georgianne was a gifted and unique local artist. As the owner of "Unique Expressions," she captured the spirit of the Lowcountry by creating beautiful artwork using local oyster shells and driftwood.
Georgianne’s heart was deeply rooted in her faith. For 28 years, she served as the Head of the Women’s Ministry in the Tampa area, and she brought that same servant's heart to Hilton Head Island, where she served as the Head Coordinator of the St. Francis Women’s Linen Ministry. She was a lifelong major supporter of EWTN, dedicating her time and energy to the church she loved so dearly.
To know Georgianne was to know a woman of distinct style and joy. Her smile was legendary, capable of lighting up any room and instantly bringing out a smile in anyone she was around. She lived life in the fast lane—literally—having owned 7 Corvettes since the age of 17. She was also a passionate and huge fan of the New England Patriots.
Her love for animals was boundless. Known as a devoted "bird whisperer" and rescuer, she at one time cared for 37 exotic birds. But perhaps her closest animal companions were her beloved Chihuahuas, Peter and Paul, and her "crazy" little Chiquita Banana.
On May 8th, sixteen years ago, Georgianne married the love of her life and her beloved husband, Joel Richard Hudon. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with deep companionship and mutual devotion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved stepson, Toby Daniel Hudon.
She leaves behind her only sister, Lee, and her husband, Pete. Georgianne loved her friends fiercely, and she always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. She leaves behind her best friend and caregiver, Gina Marie, who carried her through her final days with the utmost love and devotion.
Georgianne’s legacy of warmth, creativity, and vibrant energy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Francis by the Sea Catholic Church at 10:00 am Wednesday June 3, 2026.
