J. Walter "Walt" Dixon

J. Walter Dixon, 88, of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away March 12, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Candler Heart Hospital in Savannah, GA. Walt was happily married to Mary Theresa Livelsberger for 11 years. Born on April 3, 1936, in York, PA, Walt was the son of the late John and Josephine Dixon. He is survived by his sisters Delores Cummings of Wrightsville, PA, and Josephine Deardorff of Rockville, MD; his children Scott Dixon (Pam) and Barbara Fisher (Charles); stepchildren Robert Strocko, Vincent Strocko (Jodi), Steven Strocko (Carly), and Amy Myers (David); 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his two loving pets, Taffy and Graby.

Walt founded Dixon Electric serving York and Lancaster County and surrounding areas.  During his career, Walt was an active member of the Eastern York County Rotary and the Masonic Riverside Lodge No. 503. He was an avid golfer, bird watcher, sea turtle tracker, and loving husband. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 11:00 AM to Noon with the funeral service at Noon at The Island Funeral Home & Crematory, Hilton Head Island. Burial will be private.
