John Peter Morelli

John P Morelli, 82 years old of Collier Township, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with family.

He was born on April 22, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Mildred and Peter Morelli. John graduated from Pennsylvania State University and spent more than 30 years as chemistry teacher within the Pittsburgh Public School District. He also coached basketball, football, and volleyball.

John enjoyed riding his motorcycle, jet skiing, golfing, playing basketball, driving his Corvette, vacationing in Aruba, spending time with family and every weekend cheering on his favorite team- Penn State.

John was a dedicated husband, wonderful father, selfless grandfather and was kind to all he encountered.

To know him was to love him.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; brother Peter (Denise); brother-in-law Dennis; son Matthew (Jennifer); daughter Daena (Paul); his four grandchildren (John J., Hannah, Marco, Michael) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank (Toni) and sister Margaret.

A private memorial service will be held for family only.
