Patricia Ann Starr Maher

Patricia Ann Starr Maher passed away on April 4, 2026. Pat was born on October 18, 1949, to Raymond and Mary Starr. She grew up in Charleston, South Carolina with her brother Dr. Gene F. Starr.
Pat earned her nursing degree from University of South Carolina. After graduation, she worked in Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Columbia and Charleston for 16 years. Pat was then hired by Air-Shields Vickers, an international manufacturer of neonatal infant care equipment in 1986. She travelled around the world as a Neonatal Clinical Specialist teaching new advances in technology used in the care of premature infants.
She married Robert Louis Maher Jr. in 1993 and lived in Atlanta, Georgia until retiring to Hilton Head Island in 2010.
A Celebration of Life may be held at a future date for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Deep Well of Hilton Head, or Hilton Head Humane Association.
