RICKEY EUGENE HICKS

Rickey Eugene Hicks died suddenly on June 21, 2026, at his home on Hilton Head Island, SC. He was 74.

Rickey was born on May 5, 1952, in Tallapoosa, GA., son of Eugene and Odell Hicks. He graduated from GA Tech with a degree in Engineering and held an MBA from GA State University. He and his wife Susan moved to Hilton Head Island as Owners and Operators of Southern Services, Inc., a successful property maintenance company. He was a Licensed General Contractor. After selling the business and retiring, they planned to travel and spend time with family. Regrettably, his wife Susan passed away in 2024.

Rickey is survived by his sons William and Nanci Cabiness and John and Reshel Cabiness; four grandchildren with another expected in January; sister-in-law Kerry Horcasitas; brother-in-law Phil Klocko; brother Eddie Hicks and his wife Janice; nieces Juli Bickley and Jeaneen Ivey; and his dear companion Maureen “Mo” Smith.

Arrangements will be handled by Island Funeral Home and Crematory. Services will be private at a later date.
