Karla Joann Passer - Russell

Karla Joann Passer of Torrance, CA passed away on January 30th, 2025 at the age of 69. She passed away peacefully in her Colorado Springs home where she lived for over 20 years. Karla leaves behind many loved ones including her son, Jay Edward Russell who will forever miss her truly unconditional love. She is now reunited with her beloved daughter, Kyla Rochelle Russell, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 25. She is also survived by her siblings, Cassie Pritchett, Linda Jensen, and Bruce Passer.

Karla was a creative and positive spirit in so many people’s lives. She dedicated her life to being a loving mother and a devoted military wife for many years. To help provide for her family on military bases across the US and Europe, her professional career was spent working as a civil servant and teacher’s assistant caring for special needs children.

During retirement Karla dedicated herself to her garden, crafts, and being an incredible friend to many people in Colorado Springs and beyond. Karla had many talents and valued The Lord, family, creative pursuits, gardening, great music and most of all, being an empathetic friend to anyone in need. She will also be remembered for her incredible wit and always being quick with a joke.

Karla’s life will be celebrated at 11:00am on March 14th, 2025 with a luncheon immediately afterwards. All are welcome to join us at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
