Alex passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, from injuries incurred during a single vehicle rollover. Alex was born March 20, 1991 in Fridley, MN. He graduated in 2009 from Irondale High School in Mounds View, MN, followed by joining the US Army where he spent the next 7 years. His service time included two deployments: Afghanistan (7/26/10-7/9/11) and Kuwait (2/17/13-6/15/13).

While stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Alex met Marie-Christine (MC) Scherer, who would become his devoted wife. During their 14 years together, they were blessed with 5 beautiful children and expect a sixth in August.

Alex loved being in nature and enjoying God’s beautiful creation - hiking, hunting, fishing, camping. He was so joyful, fun and full of the wildly unexpected. He loved music, especially using his God-given, multi-range singing voice to praise his Savior.

Alex is survived by his wife, MC, his children: Aria (10), Noa (8), Leo (6), Jett (4), Eden (2); parents: Donavan (Kate) Dean and Sara (Roger) Oldre; siblings: Lynnae (Michael) Whitfield, Emily (Aaron) Ahlquist, Tony (Becky) Dean; step-siblings Michelle (Cory) Flor, Patricia Scalze, Torri (Jeremy) Sauve, Nicci Scalze; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Claire and Karen Dean, and George and Gloria Galle.
