Casie Jane Chandler-Siggers

Nov 13, 1972 — Jun 27, 2026

Casie Jane Chandler Siggers was born November 13, 1972, to Charles Fay Jr. and the late Liesia Mickler Chandler in Plentywood, Montana. She transitioned peacefully from this earth on Saturday, June 27, 2026 surrounded by family at her residence in Colorado.

Casie accepted Christ as her personal savior at a young age at St Joseph’s Catholic Church and maintained a strong spiritual relationship throughout her entire life.

Casie graduated from Plentywood High School in 1992. Afterwards, she moved to Minot, North Dakota and attended the Headquarters Academy of Hair Design for cosmetology. While in Minot in 1994, she met her husband and lifelong partner, Carlos Siggers, a Security Forces member in the U.S. Air Force. Casie and Carlos shared 31.5 years of marriage and together raised four children, Brenden, Chandler, Jamison, and Emaliesia.

Although living life in a military community, Casie maintained her independence. In Minot, she shuffled careers as a part-time hair dresser, licensed home daycare provider, and a stay-at-home mom. While stationed in California, she enjoyed going to the beach, hosting family visits, and traveling to see family members who also lived throughout California and neighboring states. When Carlos accepted his last military assignment in Colorado, Casie found her true calling. She owned and operated a successful certified home preschool. She never advertised, but always had a waiting list. Word of mouth was her calling card as her student’s parents and the local charter school administrators constantly recommended her services. Casie was exceptionally gifted at teaching children to read. She was so proud when she realized that three-year-old Emaliesia had learned to read simply by watching her teach class.

Casie opened her home to all of her children's friends and family. Through the years, a number of cousins and family friends called her house their home. She had a special soft spot for foster sons Preston and Desean. Casie was a strong advocate for children, and if she thought a child was in need or the community needed something, she worked to make sure it was done. She was the auntie who would send books and small gifts to her nieces, nephews, and friends’ kids just to spoil them and let them know she loved them. Casie prioritized taking her children back to Montana every summer and during long school breaks so they could experience a small-town childhood and build lasting relationships and memories with family and local kids.

In 2018, Casie was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. At that time, she was given a poor prognosis, but Casie didn't accept it and fought hard to beat the disease. She was blessed and deeply grateful to have her husband, children, and sister, Carie remain by her side and dedicate their lives and love to providing her with the best life possible during her cancer journey. Casie credited Carie with saving her life several times. She was also very thankful for her husband, Carlos, who was devoted to managing her countless medications and appointments while juggling his career and family responsibilities. Due to complications from cancer, Casie suffered a stroke in 2023 that left her with difficulty communicating. She added humor to her "word salad", leaving her family laughing until they cried. Casie always knew how to entertain and lighten the mood.

When Casie would return home to Plentywood, there was always a long line of family members and friends waiting for haircuts. Casie lived her life taking care of others. Whether she was cutting hair, teaching children to read, opening her home to family, or fighting cancer with determination and humor, she loved people and made people feel loved.

Casie fearlessly accepted her ultimate fate and simply wished to spend whatever time she had remaining with the people she loved. She fought with extraordinary courage for eight years, determined to remain by her family’s side. Her love, strength, and unwavering devotion will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Casie was preceded in death by her mother, Liesia Mickler Chandler; her maternal grandparents, Peter and Hendrika Mickler; paternal grandparents, Charles Fay Sr. and Violet Cybulski Chandler; her step-sister, Stephanie Timm Dosch; her mother-in-law, Alice Taylor; and father-in-law, Roosevelt Siggers.
