John Kenneth Aragon
August 27, 1958 — May 15, 2026
- "Your life is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift to God."
- — A.R. Bernard
- John Kenneth Aragon
- August 27, 1958 – May 15, 2026
- John Kenneth Aragon, 67, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on May 15, 2026. Born
- in Colorado Springs on August 27, 1958, John lived a life defined by faith, service, generosity,
- and a steadfast commitment to helping others.
- John was preceded in death by his father, LeeRoy Aragon, in 2000, and his mother, Eva
- Aragon, in 2021.
- He is survived by his daughter, Angela Marie Aragon; his grandson, Jeremiah Makoa
- Aragon-Taylor; his brother, Fred (Louise) Aragon; his sisters, Kathy (Ted) Abeyta, Shirley Bueno,
- and Eva Carolyn Aragon Aldaz; numerous nieces and nephews; his former wife and lifelong
- friend, Brenda Sambrano; and many cherished friends and members of his church family.
- One of his best friends, Jim LeVasseur, described him best: "John was the type of person who
- would give you the shirt off his back. Even if he was angry or annoyed with you, you would
- never know it. He treated everyone with respect and kindness."
- Faith was the foundation of John's life. He was an active member of Church For All Nations in
- Colorado Springs, where he faithfully served as an usher, on the security team, on the camera
- team, and as an instructor through Charis Healing University. He devoted countless hours
- caring for elderly members of his congregation, assisting those in need, and serving wherever
- help was required.
- John's faith inspired him to participate in mission work both close to home and abroad. He
- traveled to support the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming and Casa Angelina
- Orphanage in Guatemala. Whether building, repairing, painting, operating equipment, or simply
- lending a helping hand, John approached every task with enthusiasm and humility. Those who
- served alongside him often remarked that he worked harder than people half his age. More
- importantly, he built lasting relationships and shared God's love through service.
- Outside of ministry, John loved the outdoors. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, hunting deer and elk
- with both rifle and crossbow, camping, and spending time in nature. In his younger years, he
- raised wolves and maintained a lifelong appreciation for animals and wildlife. He was a devoted
- supporter of Colorado sports teams, especially the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and
- he was known among family and friends for recycling everything he could in an effort to care for
- God's creation.
- John also built a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in electronics, satellite
- communications, and engineering support. Throughout his career, he worked with organizations
- including Allied Signal Technical Services, Honeywell Technology Solutions, KBR, and
- Aerotek/Battelle. His work supporting satellite tracking and communications systems took him
- throughout the United States and around the world. He worked at NORAD and spent significant
- time living and working in Greenland, Guam, California, England, and Diego Garcia, contributing
- his expertise to critical communications and tracking operations. He was respected by
- colleagues for his technical knowledge, professionalism, integrity, and tireless work ethic.
- John's legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friends he treasured, the people he served,
- and the many lives he touched through his faith and example. He will be deeply missed and
- lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
