Lauren Murphy Roth

On July 6, 2024, Lauren “Ashley” Murphy Roth, age 31, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her mother, her step-dad (a.k.a. Poppyseed or “Dad”) and her brother after her 9 year battle with brain cancer.

She was lucky enough to have full-filled one of her “bucket-list” items before passing. Her family took her to “Hell’s Kitchen” in Las Vegas the week before her passing, where she was treated like a queen! Along with her love of Disney movies and reciting Disney songs, she loved Gordon Ramsey’s Cooking shows.

She graduated from Central High in 2011, where she earned the “People to People” award! That is where she got to go to the “Galapagos Islands” and work with animals and children. She then went on to get her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Texas, while she learned how to walk, read, and talk again. She not only obtained that degree, but she went on to have a second brain surgery and received her Masters from Capella University in Psychology. During this Lauren Ashley was able to work, do radiation and chemotherapy. She was brilliant and we watched her face all these challenges with the spirit, heart and compassion that we will truly miss. Especially by the children that she was able to work with after obtaining these degrees. She worked as a Behavioral Psychologist for several years with Autistic Children and in this short time made a huge impact on many of these children’s lives.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Alexandria Christine Knopp; step-brother, Michael Dace Murphy; and grandparents.

Lauren Ashley is survived by her Mother, Linda Christine Knopp Murphy; Step-Father Michael David Murphy; Brother, Patrick E. Dane Murphy; Father, Doug A. Roth; as well as tons of other family and friends who love her and will miss her always!
