Mary Crocker

Jan 12, 1939 — Jun 24, 2026

Mary Brook Crocker, 87, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on June 24, 2026, in Colorado Springs. She was born on January 12, 1939, to Arthur and Celestine “Sally” Crocker in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Mary attended Maryville High School and graduated in 1957. She went on to become a certified X-ray technician and worked at the hospital in Torrington, Wyoming. Mary spent the majority of her career in higher education, serving in event planning, registration, and front office roles at Pikes Peak Community College, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and Webster University.

Mary was truly the “wind beneath our wings”—a dedicated sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was the biggest advocate, cheerleader, and supporter of everyone she loved, and she loved big. Mary had a strong sense of self and a unique style that was unmistakably her own, often proudly displaying her signature pink lipstick and nails. She was immensely proud of her Irish heritage, frequently wearing green and shamrocks as a joyful tribute to where she came from. Her personality sparkled, and that spark shone through in her love of entertaining and welcoming others into her home. Mary never knew a stranger.

Mary Crocker married Ray Rodriguez on August 6, 1960, in a joyful Catholic ceremony that blended their cultures and their shared love of God. Together, they left Missouri and headed West on an adventure that would span a lifetime—first to Wyoming and then to Colorado, where they built their life and family. Mary created a home where everyone felt welcome, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and open doors for all who knew her.

Mary was artistic, adventurous, and loving, with a playful spark of mischief in her beautiful green eyes. She was always willing to try something new, whether it was belly dancing, painting, traveling, or taking on a new adventure. Mary was a devoted Denver Broncos fan, loved the mountains, and enjoyed trying her hand at the slots in Cripple Creek. She was the Doctor Dolittle of the family, caring for dogs, chinchillas, ferrets, raccoons, and many other animals with the same love and tenderness she gave to everyone around her.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Crocker; her mother, Celestine Crocker; her sister, Donna Frueh; and her brother, Bob Crocker. She is survived by her brother, James Crocker (Mary); her sister, Betty Potter (Mike); her daughters, Kellie Jakubowicz (Mike), Kammie Rodriguez McHugh (Mike), and Karrie Sherman (Paul); and her grandchildren, Ryan Gomas (Alicia), Garrett Gomas (Dani), Jake Roth (Natalie), and Toria Ingram (Patrick),great grandchildren, Ronan Gomas, Finley Gomas, Sawyer Gomas and Bailey Roth.
