In Loving Memory of SFC Mualia Salamo

Fuimaono Su’a Maiava Taofiga Mualia Salamo, age 62, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on October 15, 1963, in Apia, Samoa, Mualia lived a life defined by faith, service, and family.

Sergeant First Class Mualia Salamo proudly served in the United States Army for 22 years, including honorable service during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Throughout his military career, he embodied the values of courage and duty.

The strength, discipline, and resilience he developed through his years in the military were reflected in every aspect of his life. Above all, Mualia was devoted to his family, friends, and the Samoan community. He led by example and leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and commitment to others.

Mualia was the husband of Kapeneta and a father to Kasenise, Ashley, and Kristina. He was also a proud and loving Papa to Olivia, who brought him immense joy.

A man of deep faith, Mualia found purpose in serving others and caring for those around him. He was known for his sense of humor, straightforward nature, strength, and pride. He was a respected advocate, mentor, and friend whose kindness touched many lives.

Outside of his service and faith, Mualia enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling home to Samoa, and watching wrestling. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, sharing meals, laughter, and stories.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the example he set for all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service celebrating Mualia's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at The Springs Funeral Services, 4310 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918.
