Brenda S. Castles

Brenda S. Castles, 77, entered into rest on June 8, 2026. Born on October 22, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Sadie and Alton Sanders.

Brenda was a caring and beautiful soul who always placed the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends touched the lives of all who knew her. She worked diligently throughout her adult life and took great pride in her career before enjoying a well-earned retirement.

A 1967 graduate of Eau Claire High School, Brenda began her professional career with The State newspaper, where she dedicated many years of service. She remained a valued employee until her retirement in 2008.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Tommy Castles; her children, John Castles (Stefanie) and Heather Castles; her grandchildren, Forrest Arnold (Kasie), Gage Jeffcoat, Raulin Jeffcoat, Braydon Castles, Caleb Castles, and Ethan Castles; her great-grandchild, Laiken Arnold; and her siblings, Barbara Jerald (Richard), Al Sanders (Diane), Gail Sanders, Wanda Wilson (Chris), and Terri Renew (Danny).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie Bass Sanders and Alton Sanders, and sisters, Avery Shumpert and Pagan Sanders.

Brenda's legacy of kindness, hard work, and selflessness will live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
