Dawn Rene Combs Drummond

March 23, 1972 — June 7, 2026

We announce the passing of Dawn Rene Combs Drummond who departed this life on June 7, 2026 at the age of 54 after a lifetime of dealing with Gaucher’s Disease and many years dealing with early onset Parkinson’s Disease.

Born March 23, 1972 in Miami, Florida, Dawn was the beloved daughter of Donald W. Combs and Gail Keve Combs. She grew up in Homestead, Florida and went on to graduate from Newberry College and study at East Carolina University. Dawn was united in marriage to Donald G. Drummond on June 8, 1996; they were together 1 day shy of 30 years, a life filled with cherished memories, unwavering support, and deep love.

She was known for her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as her kindness, her upbeat attitude, and joyful personality. Whether through her work in the Real Estate Title business she built with her husband, her dedication as a mother, her involvement as a band parent, or her love for her pets (especially her cats), she touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Dawn lived with an exceedingly rare medical disorder. Upon her passing she had some of her bodily organs donated to science for the study and research of the link between Gaucher’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease. This was critically important for her as there are currently fewer than 10 specimens worldwide available for study.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don Drummond; her son, Thomas A. Drummond (& his fiancée Catie Balsamo); her brother, Brian Combs (& his wife Angela Combs); and many other relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gaucher Community Alliance in her honor. Gaucher Community Alliance, 5255 Fair Oaks Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Or via website: https://www.gauchercommunity.org/get-involved/donate/

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in the love, memories, and legacy that Dawn leaves behind. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
