Joshua “Josh” Sheets of Columbia, SC passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, after a long and difficult battle, one he faced with more strength and courage than he may have ever realized.

Josh was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away two years ago. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; his daughters, Kayleigh and Ivy; his mother, Katherine; and his sister, Desiray.

Those who loved Josh knew the many hurdles life placed in front of him. Again and again, he fought through them. He may not have always felt strong, but he proved that he was. He was brave, he was stubborn when he needed to be, and he fought one hell of a battle. In the end, it was not a battle that could be won, but the fight he gave will never be forgotten.

Josh’s family will remember his love, his resilience, and the moments they shared with him through every season of life. His daughters will carry forward the memory of a father who fought to stay, and his wife will carry the love of a man who meant more than words can ever fully hold.

Josh, we hope you know how proud we all are of you. You were stronger than you believed, braver than you knew, and loved more than words could ever say. We did not win this battle in the end, but you never stopped fighting. I will carry that with me always.
