Leslie Elrod
November 5, 1958 — April 14, 2026
Leslie Carr Elrod, wife of Terry Elrod, moved to her heavenly home on April 14, 2026. Leslie believed Jesus’ promise when He said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” Leslie is now in that place that the Lord prepared especially for her.
Leslie was born November 5, 1958, in Orangeburg South Carolina to her late parents, James and Peggy Carr. Leslie was preceded in death by her son David Elrod, whom she loved unconditionally. Leslie is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Terry Elrod, her granddaughter Autumn Lakes, her stepson Danny Elrod, her step grandson Collins Elrod, her brothers Jay Carr (Sheri), Stephen Carr (Pam), her nieces Kelli Partin (Chris), Catherine Tekac (Tyler), her nephews Jake Carr (Rhonda), Matthew Carr (Jeanne), two great-nieces, four-great nephews, and many cousins.
Leslie loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. She loved to tell people about the love of Jesus and how they could come to faith in Jesus and experience His love firsthand. Leslie loved her family and others deeply and was not hesitant to show or vocalize her love. Leslie loved to sing in the church choir until a brain tumor took her ability to sing many years ago. Her love of music continued all of her life, and she is now singing in the heavenly choir of saints.
Leslie’s family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18th, at 11:00 a.m. with the service following at 12:00 p.m., followed by interment at Greenlawn Serenity Gardens. Memorials may be made to Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206.
