Mary Viva Sellers

Mary Viva Sellers, known to those closest to her as Viva, passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born June 2, 1933, in Lecanto, Florida.

Mary proudly served four years in the United States Army, where she met the love of her life, Edward Sellers. Together they lived in Germany and Alaska before settling in Columbia, South Carolina, where they built their life and raised their family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sellers, and her children, Ricky Sellers and Ann Wagoner. She was also the last surviving of her five siblings.

Mary is survived by her children, Debbie Sellers and Teresa Goff (Dale); her daughter in law, Jamie Sellers; her grandchildren, TJ Jay (Rick), Sandy Wagoner, Clay Wooten (Mallory), and Jessica Sellers; and her great grandchildren, Meghann Williams, Harlyn Jay, Hudson Jay, Holleigh Williams, Carver Wooten, and Ollie Wooten.

Mary was a devoted member of Woodfield Park Baptist Church and found great joy in playing cards with her friends at the rec center. She was known by everyone she met for her sweetness and caring heart, and she loved her family and friends deeply.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Karesh at Beechwood, who lovingly cared for Mary over the last 18 months, and to her sweet friends who visited often.
