IN LOVING MEMORY

Peter K. Currie, a Christian, husband, and father, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on September 21, 2025. He was 78 years old.  

He was an avid hunter and fisher. He proudly served as a police officer with the Columbia Police Department for 20 years.  

He is survived by his wife, Marie Currie; daughter, Wendy Hammond; sister, Sylvia Paris; brother, Ellis Currie; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ellis and Edith Currie; daughter, Jeanette Koontz; and brother, Herbert Currie.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25th from 6pm until 8pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. A graveside funeral will be held on Friday, September 26th at 11am in Serenity Memorial Gardens, 6601 Windwan Drive, Columbia, SC 29209.
