Bhupendra Patel

June 14, 1957 — June 4, 2026

Bhupendra Patel, lovingly known as "Bhupi," promoted peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, businessman, and faithful servant of God, Bhupi leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, hard work, and generosity.

Born in Kenya to the late Paliben Patel and Gopalbhai Patel, Bhupi carried with him a strong work ethic and a determination to provide for his family throughout his life. Over the years, he owned and operated hotels and a gas station, building businesses through dedication and perseverance. In recent years, he and his beloved wife, Naina, found great joy working side by side as owners of their food truck business, a venture they built together with love and determination.

Above all, Bhupi was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. His faith guided every aspect of his life and was evident in the kindness, compassion, and integrity he showed to others.

Bhupi dearly loved his wife, Naina, and his children, Ricky, Ravi, and Rina. He also loved his daughter-in-love, Pallavi, and his son-in-love, David, as his own. His family was his treasure. Yet those who knew him also saw a special joy awaken in his heart when his granddaughter Simran was born, and later again with the arrival of his grandson Daniel. His love for his family was evident in all he did.

Bhupi and Naina were among the founding members of International Family Church. They faithfully stood alongside Pastors Satish and Maalee in helping establish this ministry in Columbia. Their prayers, sacrifice, generosity, and unwavering commitment helped lay the foundation upon which so many lives have been touched by the grace of God.

Bhupi is survived by his loving wife, Naina Patel; his son, Ricky Patel, and daughter-in-love, Pallavi Patel; his granddaughter, Simran Patel; his son, Ravi Patel; his daughter, Rina Abreu, and son-in-love, David Abreu; his grandson, Daniel Abreu; his brother, Kiritkumar Patel; his sister, Dakshaben Patel; his brother, Rajendra Patel; his mother-in-love, Shantaben Patel; and his father-in-love, Ratilal Patel.

Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his family rejoices in the assurance that he is now in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, church family, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Instead of planting a tree, we would like to do something different in honor of Bhupi.
