Donna Sue Dew, 71, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on June 13, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1953, in Mullins, West Virginia, to Luther Edward and Janet (Lusk) O’Neal.

Donna lived a life marked by resilience and heart. Though she faced significant health challenges throughout the years, her sharp wit, generous spirit, and unshakable feistiness remained constant. Music was her greatest passion—her soundtrack, her comfort, and her joy. It was the thread that ran through the fabric of her days and the stories she shared.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Royal of Irmo; her son, John Dew Jr. of West Columbia; and her beloved grandchildren: Jacy Royal, Abby Dew, Wesley Dew, Riley Dew, Jack Dew, and Ava Dew. She is also survived by her mother, Janet O’Neal; her brother, William O’Neal; her sister, Linda Sexton and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, John Dew; her father, Luther O’Neal; and her sisters, Dianna Burnham and Deborah Corbin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Thompson Chapel, with Pastor David Spears officiating. A private Interment will take place at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
