March 8, 1968 — April 26, 2021
Mr. John Simon Wingard III, 53, of Lexington, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 4:49am.
John was born in Lexington, SC on March 8, 1968 to Mr. John Wingard, Jr. and Mrs. Glenda Wingard. He was a 1986 graduate of Lexington High School. He worked as a truck driver for 35 years and was most recently employed by Interstate Towing, where he enjoyed hauling heavy equipment.
John is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Glenda Wingard; grandparents: Mr. Heber Wessinger, Mrs. Irene Wessinger, Mr. John Wingard Sr., and Mrs. Rosabelle Wingard.
John is survived by his son, Mr. Miles Simon Wingard; father, Mr. John Wingard, Jr.; sister, Mrs. Janet Mobley (Robert); nieces, Miss Morgan Mobley and Miss Addyson Mobley; special friends, Miss Christine Nienhuis and Miss Beth Barker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC. A funeral service will be held at the Woodridge Memorial Park Gazebo, 135 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00pm, with interment at Woodridge Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and CCU staff at Prisma Health Heart Hospital for their wonderful care.
