Larry Thomas Hook

Larry Thomas Hook, 82, of West Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026 at his home in West Columbia.

Born on August 26, 1943, in West Columbia, he was the son of Lewie Wade Hook, Sr. and Bera Carruth Seay Hook. Larry graduated from Brookland Cayce High School, Class of ‘61, joined the SC National Guard in ‘64, received an honorable discharge in ‘70 with the rank of SP5, and went on to work as a Parts Manager with Cummins Atlantic for many years.

Remembered for his love for his family and his friendly nature, he was a friend to everyone he met. He loved spending his free time outdoors, whether maintaining his yard, tending chickens to share eggs with friends, or growing a garden to feed his family.

Larry is survived by Paula Jean Blevins Hook, wife of 32 years; his sons, Larry Thomas Hook, Jr, (Maria Hook), Wade Sterling Hook, (Michelle Hook); his grandchildren, Wade Sterling Hook, II, Breanne Fowler (Matthew Fowler), Bailey Carleen Hook Gaulden (Nicholas Gaulden); and great grandchildren, Adam Fowler, Asher Fowler, Adelynn Fowler, Alana Fowler, and Trey Richardson Hook. Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Lewie Wade Hook, Jr.; sister, Jo Ann Elizabeth Hook; mother, Bera Carruth Seay Hook; and father, Lewie Wade Hook, Sr.

A Funeral service will be held on June 9th with visitation at 11:00 am and a memorial service following at 12:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073. The family will have a private graveside burial after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
