Margaret Boone

Margaret Boone, 99, passed away Saturday, June 13th, 2026. She was born February 1st, 1927 to the late Earl W. Sturkie and Mary Jane Hyman Sturkie. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Marvin H. Boone, her three sisters Elaine, Laurel, Sylvia, and one brother Jack.

Margaret is survived by her children Howard Boone (Kathy), Troy Boone (Cindy), and Linda Trott (John), as well as 6 grandchildren: Glenn Boone, Earl Boone, Heidi Corder, Wesley Boone, Gregg Boone, and Shanna Murphy. She also has 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret was a member of Ebenezer Pentecostal Church for many years. She worked at the cotton mill over 40 years and over 10 years retiring from Michelin. She enjoyed gardening, socializing, and loved her grandchildren. She lived fearlessly and had no hesitations riding roller coasters with her grandchildren when she was in her 70’s and taking a plane flight with her grandson, Earl, at the ripe age of 97.

The family would like to thank her sweet, loving hospice nurse Bernadette with Agape Hospice who made this difficult time much easier to navigate. We would also like to thank her caregivers Velvet, Nakiaha, and Macey.
