Marla Ingram Rehborn
August 18, 1957 — March 9, 2023
Marla Ingram Rehborn, 65, of Lexington, SC entered into eternal life on March 9, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer. Marla passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Marla was born August 18, 1957 in Danville, VA to Wayne and Alma Ingram. She was the eldest of three daughters. She graduated from George Washington High School in Danville. She moved to South Carolina after high school to begin her life’s journey. Marla had a long career with the State of South Carolina as a Claims examiner until her retirement in 2022.
Affectionately called “Peanut” by her husband, Marla married Tracy D. Rehborn on May 16, 1987 in Columbia. She and Tracy welcomed sons Brantley and Cameron in 1990. Her sons, always called “the boys” were a constant source of pride and joy to her.
In addition to her husband and sons, Marla is survived by her sisters, Wendy Shelton and Kim Snead, mother in law Lorraine Rehborn, and extended family members Kim Bobinski and Rick Lelonek , Jeff and Tina Rehborn, Randy and Lisa Rehborn along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The Rehborn family loved their Southern Belle. They enjoyed many adventures together, often traveling abroad or enjoying time together at their second home in Myrtle Beach.
Marla touched so many lives throughout her life. She was a source of constant joy for her family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Marla was the embodiment of unconditional love. She will be remembered for her laugh, her sweet nature and her loving heart. Marla was a passionate animal lover and always supported local animal charities. Her cats Izzy, Gracie and Olivia will miss her as well.
Death was too negative for Marla. As the ultimate optimist, she was intent on transitioning to that hippie, mermaid world where she knew she belonged. She will be watching over us all as she swims in a world full of joy, peace and harmony and never ending sunsets.
There will be a visitation on March 20, 2023 from 5 to 8 pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington. Dress comfortably and bring your sparkle.
