Toby A. Taylor

"Lord, grant that I might not so much seek to be loved as to love."

Toby, beloved son of Robert Duncan Taylor and Evelyn Hydrick Taylor passed from this life to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He was a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School, class of 1997 where he enjoyed playing trombone in the Bearcat Marching Band. He continued his pursuit of music at Brevard Music Camp and SC Governor's School for the Arts.

Toby was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.A. Degree from the School of Journalism, class of 2001. He was employed by a number of law firms as a paralegal and office administrator.

Toby is survived by his parents; two sisters, Tracy Taylor and Robin Johnson; and two nephews, Benjamin Johnson and Daniel (Madison) Johnson. Toby is predeceased by his brother, Jonathan Taylor.

Toby enjoyed many varieties of music. He was also passionate about community theater and his dog Mollie. He sang and danced his way through many plays in Columbia and Lexington. Toby will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Toby's celebration of life will be Monday, May 18, at 11:00 am at Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington, SC. Visitation will follow the service.
