Alexander Smith III, 95, of Haverstraw, NY, passed away on July 20th, 2021. He was born in New York City, NY on April 4th, 1926. He was married to Joan Gilliamsen on September 25th, 1954. Alex had a career in Stationary Engineering for the Hebrew Hospital for the Cronic Sick. He had a passion for modelships and playing dominos and chess. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his children Barbara Smith Reiher, Thomas Smith, Donald Smith, Donna Doolan, Paul Smith; his grandchildren Alex Smith, Lauren Smith, Brittany Burke, Kimberly Privitera, Raymond Lund, Ryan Doolan, Justin Smith, Kevin Smith, and Thomas Smith; and great-grandchildren McKayla Blackburn, Mackenzi Pauley, Brynn and Nathan Privitera and Dade Burke. Visitation will be held on Thursday on July 29th from 4-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 30th, 10am, at St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw,followed by interment at Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
