Bernice V. Atkins (Bea), of Pomona New York, passed way peacefully at her daughter Vicky’s home on Saturday March 9, 2024. She was 94 years old. Bea was born in Ontario Canada on January 13, 1930, to Emma & William Knight. She worked in sales at Macy’s & Loft’s until she married the love of her life, John on April17th, 1954. In her free time Bea enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, attending grandchildren’s activities and worked many years for the Board of Elections. Bea was predeceased by husband John, sons Kevin & Ed, sisters Shirley & Barbara, brother Art and grandchild Tyler. Bea is survived by sister Phebe, children Vicky, Pat (Sal), John (Ellen), Bill and daughter-in-law Linda. . Also grandchildren Shannon, James, Jackie, Casey, Jillian, Derek, Jamie, Nicole, Brooke, Conner, Peyton, Ryan and great grandchildren Cassidy, Hailey, Madison, Charlotte, Nash, Ellie, Griffin and Harper.
Family will receive friends on Thursday March 14th4-8pm at TJ McGowan & Sons in Garnerville, NY. Mass to be held Friday March 15th at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY at 10am, followed by internment at Fred Loescher Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City NY 10956.
