Daniel J Sullivan

Daniel J. Sullivan, age 86, born February 15, 1933 passed peacefully on April 22, 2019. Daniel was raised in Vinegar Hill, NY by his parents Daniel T. and Mary (Sugrue) Sullivan. Daniel graduated Cardinal Hayes High School. He fought for his country as a paratrooper during the Korean War. The best years of his life were working besides his best friends for the NYC Fire Dept (FDNY) at Engine 84. Dan married Margie (McMullan) in 1957 and moved to Rockland County in 1964 to raise their family. Dan was a tireless volunteer at St. Gregory Barbarigo School and Albertus Magnus High School. Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years Margie, and his children Dan (Suzann) of Stony Point; Tricia of Garnerville; Stephen (Laura) of Wake Forest, NC; Larry (Moira) of Stony Point and Jimmy of Garnerville. He leaves his incredible grandchildren Daniel, Meaghan, Jack, Thomas, Maggie and Emily. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Maureen Cavanaugh. The family will receive friends & relatives on Sunday April 28th from 2-4 & 7 – 9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Daniel on Monday April 29th at 10:30 AM in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville. A private family burial will be held on Tuesday April 30th at 1 PM in Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
